The READING RECREATION COMMISSION is currently accepting applications for the full-time and part-time positions described below:

2024 SUMMER SEASONAL RECREATION POSITIONS
Schlegel Pool lifeguards, Playground Leaders, Tennis Instructors, Snack Bar Workers and Front Desk Cashiers.  Must be friendly and reliable with a highly developed sense of responsibility.  Bilingual abilities are a plus.  Playground Leaders must be high school graduates; applicants with at least one year of completed college preferred.

The above positions are classified as Mandated Reporters. A mandated reporter is a person who, because of his or her profession or position, is legally required to report any suspicion of child abuse or neglect to the relevant authorities. These laws are in place to prevent children from being abused and to end any possible abuse or neglect at the earliest possible stage. Any reports of suspected child abuse, after being reported to authorities, are to be communicated immediately to the Recreation Supervisor.  Mandated reporter training for this position is required before beginning employment with the Reading Recreation Commission.
