Lifeguard Certification (Lifeguard Registration)
Cost: $190.00
Date: April 11,18,25 & May 2 & 9, 2018
Time: 6:00p.m.-10:00p.m.
Location: Reading High School
This is a 5 day American Red Cross certification class. Upon completion participants will receive a 2 year Red Cross certification in lifeguard training, CPR, AED and First Aid.
Prerequisites: Minimum age of 15, Swim 300 yards continuously using front crawl and breaststroke (goggles may be used), Starting in the water, swim 20 yards using front crawl and breaststroke, surface dive 7-10 feet, retrieve a 10-pound object, return to the surface, swim 20 yards back to the starting, point with the object and exit the water without using a ladder or step, within 1 minute, 40 seconds (No goggles), Tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs.

Lifeguard/CPR/First Aid/AED Recertification (Lifeguard Recertification)
Cost: $135.00
Date: May 22 & May 23, 2018
Time: 5:00p.m.-9:00p.m.

This is a 2 day course offered to individuals who currently have a Red Cross Lifeguard certification.

Summer Aquatic Programs 2018

Schlegel Park Pool is one of the largest public pools in Berks County.  Daily or seasonal passes may be purchased.  Offered amenities include: large recreational pool, tot pool, volleyball court, basketball court, pavilion, picnic tables, benches and concession stand.

The pool will be closed May 29-June 1, June 4-6 and August 27-August 31.

12:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m., September 1-3 (Labor Day weekend)
